What
is Supervised Visitation?
Supervised Visitation refers to contact between a non-custodial
parent and one or more children in the presence of a
third party responsible for observing and seeking to
ensure the safety of the participants.
What
is Monitored Exchanges?
Monitored Exchanges takes place when a neutral party
assists with the transfer of the child from one parent
to the other. A no-contact order is enforced to ensure
that the custodial or non-custodial parent does not
have contact with one another.
The
S.A.F.E. Program
The Supervised Visitation program is designed to create
a positive, safe, and neutral environment where children
and their parents can be assured of a safe exchange
or visitation with non-custodial parents.
Reasons
for Supervised Visitation
Problems or alleged problems that may result in a court
order for supervised visitations include:
• Domestic abuse
• Charges/allegations of any type of child abuse
• Reported/suspected substance abuse
• Parents with mental illness
• Parents who have been estranged from the child
The
Visitation Program goals:
• Provide on-site supervised Visitation
• Provide peaceful monitored exchanges
• Offer assistance for families in conflict during a
transitional stage
• Provide children with a stress-free environment
The
Process
Parents must complete and sign an intake application
package and attend a one hour orientation meeting. The
agency will attempt to accommodate each parent's schedule.
All
rules and regulations will be discussed during orientation.
We
provide an unbiased summary of visits or exchanges to
the court mediators.
We
are a neutral third party providing a service to both
parents.
Program
Cost
There is a registration fee and visits/exchanges are

Supervised
Visitation and Monitored Exchanges
WHY
ARE VISITS IMPORTANT?
The child sees that the non-custodial parent still love
him/her and wants to visit with the child.
The
visits allow the child to see the visiting parent is
all right, so that the child does not worry about the
non-custodial parent's well being.
The
visits allow the child to slowly come to terms with
the separation or divorce of his/her parents, which
can help in the healing process.
Our
