Everyone
becomes angry during certain times in his or her life.
Anger also may be a mask for other emotions, such
as fear, hurt, depression, etc. What makes anger in
people different is how they react when angry. Some
are able to calm themselves down by utilizing coping
skills, while others do not have control or knowledge
of these skills. Anger management, whether in individual
counseling or in classes, teaches the individual to
be able to recognize triggers to anger, thus buying
him/her more time to think before he or she reacts.
The individual also learns way in which he or she
can control these emotions, allowing for more positive
outcomes.
